Controller[edit | edit source]

An easy mod to perform is to replace the existing controller with an off-the-shelf one. This allows the user to completely change how the motor is driven and adapt it to his liking. The throttles found on most e-scooters are compatible with these controllers, they are known as Hall Effect throttles, so they can be kept in order to pilot the new controler.

This mod is mostly performed on Lime scooters (SJ 2.5 and SJ 3.0) since there is no currently known way to operate the ESC without the GPS unit. By getting completely rid of the ESC and replacing is, the motor can be fully freely operated.
